Healthcare Fiasco

They are changing the system to cover 14 million people.  It just doesn't make sense!

There are 47 million uncovered people in this country.  20 million of those are illegal aliens and not entitle to coverage. 13 million include those people who choose not to be covered and are taking their chances and saving money on premiums they can afford to buy. That leaves about 14 million who are not covered. Out of these there are about 4 million who are too lazy or uninformed to sign up for government programs that are already in existence.

47% of people covered are already paid for by the government through Medicare or Medicaid.  The politicans want to throw out the whole system so they can say they did some thing.  If they were really genuine about saving helath care costs, the government would insitute a single payor system with the government paying the bill and eliminate the health care businesses and insurance industries.  They add to the cost of healthcare approximately 33%, while the government's Medicare overhead is about 1%.

The government is afraid to do what it must do because that would mean a hughe surge in unemployment with all those people in the insurance industry being unemployed.
