Help! My Kid's a Vegetarian!
user
Like any good parent, I worry
about my kids and the
internet.
When my husband and I got them their own computer we made sure to
put it in the kitchen in plain sight, so that I could keep an eye
on them. That way, while I was chopping potatoes I could make sure
they
weren’t chatting with any
43-year-old men pretending to be 12-year-old girls, or looking at
R-rated pictures of Disney stars. You know the ones.
But little did I know that the real danger lurked in things that
got sent to them by their own friends. Because it was one such
email that had a drastic effect on our lives - a video emailed to
my tween by a well-meaning classmate.
Calm down - it wasn't porn. It was a grainy, black and white
video of a slaughterhouse. And it turned my daughter into –
shudder – a vegetarian...Read

Well, it may be HER choice, but Mom's the one that has to appease the family. Way too much pressure. Its usually just a phase. In my opinion we make it too easy for vegans, in this spoiled society. Where we buy our meat neatly packaged in the store. Yeah, its gross, but wouldn't it be moreso if we actually had to live off the land? Wow, I don't know......I'd rather someone else do all the messy work it takes to fill my belly. Of course, there's always Organic, Free-Range, etc. meat available, at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Fred Meyer, & prob. others. Take her to a farm a few times. Organic, normal, or both. It'll probably open up her mind a bit & she'll see the light.
Go watch a calf being born. IF she's willing to eat "natural" meat, its expensive! At one time, all races had to live off the land, and nothing was wasted. Now, too many people = a lot of food. Who to thank? White people, sadly. The truth is the truth. All them White settlers came here and made more and more babies, so now we have a spoiled priviliged society who have the luxury of fretting over designer labels, Organic cottons, and not eating meat. Gauranteed if they were less fortunate & hungry enough, they'd eat anything, and I mean, anything!

Being a vegetarian is not bad at all in fact it might turn out to be a healthy life style.

I don't play that game of "I only eat these things" they eat what I give them whether they like it or not. When they grow up and move out THEN they can be whatever it is they want to be. I REFUSE to make special meals unless they are allergic to what I am serving.
