How shall you reply (Poem)

When the time has come
And the question is asked
How shall you reply
For path you’ve traveled
Tells no lies
Your actions you can’t deny

Within this life and born of sin
You’re tested day by day
How shall you reply
For when each test you take
You stand you stumble
And sometimes you even lie

Upon the moment of ultimatum
You cannot run and hide
How shall you reply
‘tis this point now you can’t avoid
For upon this moment here and now
Your answer answers why

To contemplate which way your passage
With the moment heavy upon you
How shall you reply
For at this time it all comes true
In all you’ve come to be
Is what happens when you die

So fear not lonely child
It’s a debt we all must pay
I know how you’ll reply
I don’t know why I see it true
Perhaps in time I’ll come to know
Upon the day I die
