I GIVE THANKS THAT I AM ABLE TO DO WHAT I DO....HAPPY THANKSGIVING.....ENJOY!!!!

Thanksgiving is one week away.  It is my favorite Holiday.  I am very thankful for all I have.  I would love to hear about your favorite Thanksgiving dishes or recipes.

FOR STARTERS:    I love having big trays for munching on just to take the edge off.

Does anyone do the Peanut Butter Stuffed celery?

                                     ENTREE...........................................

                                                        I love the traditional recipes.

Stuffing is very simple.....bread, chicken broth, minced celery, carrots and onions sauteed, plenty of sage, thyme and parsley and lots of salt and pepper.  I add browned sausage to 1/2 the mix.  What do you add???

Mashed potatoes....ahhhhhh another great dish.  Lots of warmed cream and butter, salt and pepper.  Whipped to perfection!!!  Some people I know add cream cheese and sour cream.  How about it?

For me the gravy makes the meal.....smooth, very flavorful with lots of pepper.  What do you put in your gravy?

Sweet Potato Casserole.....Whipped sweets with butter, brown sugar, maple syrup and walnuts.

The famous Green Bean Casserole...............I love Paula Deen's recipe

Corn is a must....I add butter, cream, and salt.

The cranberry has to be Jellied Cranberry sauce.  If I don't have time to make it, I will buy a good canned Jelly.

I make my own Apple Sauce with Cinnamon.  I am the only one who eats it but I love it.

These little Buttermilk Biscuits are a must.  I serve them with butter, pumpkin butter and maple butter.

I love Pumpkin Pie........the whipped cream must be homemade.  What a way to finish a meal !

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE LEFTOVERS?
Open face Hot Turkey Sandwich on cheap white bread.

TURKEY SALAD ON TOAST.  Lots of celery and mayonnaise.

Turkey Pot Pie..............Easy and satisfying.

...................or just do a repeat and enjoy every mouth-watering bite.

At the end of the day, remember that this is still the greatest country in the world.  Whatever our differences, we must be thankful for everything we have, the freedoms we may take for granted and our incredible families.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY SHINE FRIENDS !!!!!!!

YAY! A new Haba blog! I am thankful for good friends like you!

I like to make this recipe for breakfast for Thankgsgiving morning. It has to be chilled overnight, so make it the night before, and pop it in the oven in the morning!

    HAM & CHEESE CROISSANT CASSEROLE

    3-4 (5 INCH) LARGE CROISSANTS

    8 0Z CHOPPED COOKED HAM

    1 CUP SHREDDED SWISS CHEESE

    6 LARGE EGGS

    1 CUP HALF N HALF

    1 TBSP DRY MUSTARD

    2 TBSP HONEY

    1/2 TSP SALT

    1/2 TSP PEPPER

    1/4 TSP NUTMEG (Optional)

Cust croissants in half lenthwise, then cut each half into bite size pieces. Place pieces in a lightly buttered 10" DEEP dish pie pan.Top with ham & cheese.

Whisk together eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour egg mixture over croissants and press croissants into mixture.Cover tightly in FOIL and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake, covered in foil for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for 25-30 more minutes or until browned and set. Let stand for ten minutes before serving.

I logged in to check my email and I looked at my subscriptions and I saw you had a new blog.

1st off....I am thankful for my family and my friends. I am thankful I have a job, so many people around here do not. I know that is generic, but all true!

As for the food. My grandmother has a stuffing recipe that would make you gain weight by reading the ingredients. It has a whole loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, 1lb of spicy pork sausage, and a lb of hamburger, celery, garlic and some other stuff.

As for the turkey leftovers I make turkey pot pie with it.2 years ago we had so much turkey I could not eat another sandwich and I was at the store thinking about supper. There was a woman with a basket full of frozen pot pies and that is when the idea popped into my head. Why buy those frozen when I could make them. All I needed was cream of chicken soup, biscuits, peas, corn, and carrots. Added a little cayenne and it was great!

I hope all y'all have a great and filling thanksgiving!

Ah Jeez 29 I left the eggs out of my stuffing recipe...............woops. I never have a written recipe.

Molli: 1/2 a cup of butter could make anything taste great but that is a better recipe than mine. Thank You!
