i wonder why

user

I was a victim of Hurricane Katrina and i just need to know a few things.  I'm back at home and it's been over 3 yrs and I haven't seen any progress out here except in a few select areas.  (Mostly white, upper-class neighborhoods)  It's kinda f--- ed up that the gas is higher than the national avg and the rent is too high for most people to afford and the jobs dont pay s---.  Call me an angry black man but this s--- doesnt happen to the white folks.  I know you've heard that it's easier to get liquor and drugs than it is to get a job.  Or a book.  Or a good education.  Well in my city, it's really like that.  I'm not tryna say that it doesnt happen like that in other areas of our country but WTF.  I'm college educated, I'm not a felon but i still have troble getting a decent job.  All they want to do is KEEP A ----- DOWN, LITERALLY.  I pull no punches and don't hold my tongue.  This is a very racist, bias, nephatism influenced city, but I love it to death.  I really wonder why the people even bother to come back here.  It's because this is all most New Orleanians know.  I don't feel sorry for myself, yet i do feel sorry for the next couple generations behind me.  Do I really want these children to take care of me when I'm old and gray?  f--- no!   They won't be mentally or financially wise to do so.  Sorry New Orleanss but I wish we can really learn to address the issues and get the city on a good track for a change.  God help us!
