If it's Sunday, we'll miss Tim!

How many of us grew up with Tim Russert being the face and voice of Meet the Press?  I always counted on Tim's coverage.  It was fair, it was some of the most even, responsible reporting on television.  I'd listen to Tim on Sunday, and often use some of his predictions and assessments (with proper credit)  when 8th graders would ask tough questions about current events.  Then, when as often did, his predictions came true, some of the kids would start "secretly" watching if they woke up early on Sunday.  (Never was I allowed to reveal their "uncool" activity to the class, of course!)

Tim was more than an icon to us political junkies!  He seemed to truly be a man of character and the voice of a generation, who grew up with dad's just like Big Russ.  So to Big Russ, Luke, Maureen and his colleagues on NBC, my condolences.  But I have to agree with Matt Lauer, Tim's lining up a heck of a show for tomorrow in heaven, because, "If it's Sunday, It's Meet the Press."
