Ms. Douglas, I suppose if a real journalist from the New York Times dated you--freelance "reporter" for the stellar Shine website--that, too, would be considered dating down? Your phrasing in this story is beyond cynical, implying that because Ms. Larson was a cocktail waitress, she was unworthy of someone of Clooney's stature. The problem is, HE chose HER. Apparently he didn't share your opinion. Shame on you for the needless commentary on Ms. Larson. The cynicism of these "entertainment" sites is becoming oppressive. Who appointed you and your ilk the job of defining who should and should not be derided in the public arena? Just give us the story and save your pithy remarks for your personal blog, where surely your equally cynical friends can chuckle along with you in the cyber darkness. Lastly, I admit the fact that I clicked on your absurd story shows I'm just one more enabler of such misanthropic writing. Shame on me, too.

I think George isn't married because settling down makes him face his mortality. He's not getting any younger...though he certainly looks better every year!!! ;-)

Why is it that a hollywood "star" cant have a love interest outside his/her peers without implying that its beneath them? Hollywood is just another city, there elite are still just mortals...before they were idolized they were just regular people with regular feelings, and bottom line...they are still just people finding their way just like you and I.

he is like any man that is successful. by dating someone that is "normal" and not as well known, they're no or little competition.
