Would that include the 'fact' that in last night's interview with CBS' KATIE COURIC that ALASKA GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN didn't and COULDN'T even cite precisely WHICH NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES that she has been reading leading up her selection as the REPUBLICAN VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.
Why wouldn't ANYONE want to tell what publications they are reading? Well, either it might be that she's only reading publications that she doesn't want everyone to know or PERHAPS, like current President George W. Bush has admitted in the past he just doesn't read the newspapers. But being a politician....it would have just been TOO easy for SARAH PALIN to pull any newspaper name off the top of her head and put an end to COURIC's continued questions on the subject. She's lied about enough other things....might as well just say....the "NEW YORK TIMES" or the "WALL STREET JOURNAL" or the "FORT WORTH STAR TELEGRAM!" WHATEVER!!!

It is true that you CAN see RUSSIA from ALASKA as GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN has said as "BIG DIOMEDE ISLAND," (sparsly populated with those of the Native Inu'it which many refer to as Eskimo,) which belongs to RUSSIA can actually be seen from "LITTLE DIOMEDE ISLAND," also known as Krusenstern Island or Inaliq, which belongs to ALASKA and the U.S.A. is a sparsly populated island, mostly of the Inu'it Native Alaskan tribe.
In a televised interview, CNN's GARY TUCHMAN traveled to "LITTLE DIOMEDE" where he met with the Chief of the Inu'it people there on "LITTLE DIOMEDE ISLAND" of Alaska who was seen saying GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN has NEVER visited the island and, indeed, that no GOVERNOR of ALASKA has EVER VISITED THE ISLAND. Only now indicted Alaskan SENATOR TED STEVENS, (former friend of PALIN who helped her get elected and then she turned on him,) has visited the impoverished island where they do not get television and the conditions in which they live resembles impoverished 'third world' conditions.
GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN's record on helping the Native Alaskan tribes is very poor, indeed.
GARY TUCHMAN says that only 150 people live on "LITTLE DIOMEDE ISLAND" and that the town of DIOMEDE has no streets and no cars. The poverty rate is OVER 40%, there is no television, and the only practical way to reach it is by helicopter. Anchorage is 550 miles away. Anchorage is near Wasilla, the hometown of SARAH PALIN where she was Mayor.
Diomede's residents barely knew who SARAH PALIN was, and one of them didn't know she was the VP nominee.
WELL, INDEED, GOVERNOR PALIN, if there is significant potential that PUTIN 'rears his head' and comes into AMERICAN AIRSPACE.... it seems like you as the GOVERNOR OF ALASKA should be calling upon the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT under our HOMELAND SECURITY ACT and the BUSH-CHENEY administration to get off their duffs and put an AMERICAN MILITARY BASE there on LITTLE DIOMEDE ISLAND in the same way that the RUSSIANS have a military base over on BIG DIOMEDE ISLAND!!!

Then she spent over $20 MILLION DOLLARS ON THE ROAD TO NOWHERE!!! It goes nowhere and has no traffic. One woman was seen on television at the end of this lonely road saying that at least the government should put a park at the end of it so people oculd use the road to travel to 'somewhere' and get some use out of that money.
In addition, GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN started out telling the American public that she sold the Governor's jet on EBAY but turns out that she simply put the jet up for sale on EBAY but it NEVER sold there. It would later sell for a loss in a private sale.
The BIG KICKER THERE is that now GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN CHARGES THE STATE OF ALASKA for the cost of airfare for flying her family around. PLUS....PALIN also CHARGES THE STATE OF ALASKA WHENEVER SHE STAYS IN HER OWN HOME WHICH SHE DOES OFTEN!!!! This is documented by the STATE OF ALASKA.

When in AFGHANISTAN visiting the ALASKA NATIONAL GUARD, GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN did travel to the BORDER OF IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN but the OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE U.S. NATIONAL GUARD IS THAT THEY ARE 100% CERTAIN THAT GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN............DID NOT CROSS OVER INTO IRAQ!!!!
In addition, that TRIP TO IRELAND was A REFUELING STOP ONLY!!!
In addition, that TRIP TO GERMANY was a stopover to visit with troupes at an AMERICAN MILITARY BASE HOSPITAL.....now, that said, of course, to me the visit to the troupes is the most important aspect of this trip but state it as that and don't misrepresent it as a visit to GERMANY and with the GERMAN people.
That is the whole point about VISITING FOREIGN COUNTRIES....not to just only go to stay on AMERICAN MILITARY BASES and eat dinner only with AMERICANS and have no contact with the people of foreign countries.... the point is TO travel the country and to get to know what it is about and what the people are like. You can read all the books in the world about other countries and, while that is good, you're simply getting the viewpoint of that author regarding what the country and its people are like. YOU, personally, have to go and visit these places and these peopole to know what they are like. It is one of the single most important things that you can do in life if you REALLY want to understand the diversities in this world and that we AMERICANS are only one of many types of people in a very diverse world.
You cannot possible truly understand your FRIENDS nor your ENEMIES if you NEVER come FACE TO FACE WITH THEM. Now, if you are living an independent life that has no real bearing on and significance in the lives of other people then it's not really important for any reason other than your own education if you don't travel the world....BUT if you choose to put yourself into a position of representing the AMERICAN PEOPLE and being a part of the negotiations of a NATION with OTHER COUNTRIES.....say....maybe in the position of.....a VICE PRESIDENT and potential PRESIDENT.......then YES....YES!!!! YOU MUST BE EDUCATED ABOUT THE OTHER COUNTRIES AND THE OTHER PEOPLE AROUND THIS WORLD THAT WE SHARE THIS PLANET WITH!!! YOU MUST DO YOUR BEST TO KNOW THEM AND TO UNDERSTAND THEM AND TO ACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH THE DIFFERENCES IN HOW WE MAY OR MAY NOT THINK!!!
