Kylie Minogue can’t sell albums in the U.S. and we’re sad

We have loved Kylie since back in her "Locomotion" days and her last two albums were in heavy iPod rotation. When word came that after beating cancer (yes, she is quite inspirational) Kylie was coming back hard with a new dance CD we counted the days for it’s release stateside. Apparently no one else noticed, because it only sold…5,500 copies?  Seriously, if she called in a favor for all her good buddies to buy her album it would have sold more copies. Her latest effort, X, debuted at #139 on Billboard. Are you remembering that Diddy’s two reality fab bands were recently in the #1 spots on the charts? What is going on! Kylie, sweetheart, you’ve gotta get yourself a TV show or it’s back to Australia with you.

Do you think it’s time for Kylie to give up in her U.S. success? Do you think Madonna’s new album will do much better? [Billboard]

The album may have only charted at 139 on the Billboard charts but don't think for one minute that Kylie has lost her touch. X is one of the best pop albums that I have heard in years, and dispite Kylie's disappointing numbers here in the US she has far made up for it in the rest of the world. Selling a million copies of the album and charting int the top 20 of 16 diffrent countries. No, Kylie may not ever make it here in the US but that seems to be how it goes for a lot of artists. Robbie Williams has attempted many times to repeat his mass-world wide success and has failed multiple times. Its sad that even though the music that Kylie has presented with X is a step above the rest that American radio is not even giving it a chance.
