Here I am standing on the fence!
I am about to spend all of my secret cash (about 800 plus) on my own website.
The thing is I know nothing about running a website ... I have so much to say about all kinds of things .... autism, parenting, sex, love, husbands, fashion, celeb gossip, food and all the rest of the topics than make us *click!
I really want to do it ... it is clear to me that I am not gettin' anywhere sittin' here for the last eight years takin' care of my little boy with autism. Don't get me wrong ... I love the kid but I am dying here.
No, I DO NOT WANT TO SELL SOAP or nail polish .... I want to do something for myself!
To blow the bundle or not blow the bundle? That is the question I ask of thee?
What do you think?
*click marketing is a real way to make money ... it takes at least 500 - 1000 hits on my site per day to just a little bit money

Save the money for right now, Bbee!!! You can create a FREE SITE with (among others) Yahoo Geocities, or Freeservers. There are tons of places you can put your pages, without spending one thin dime.
draac.com has useful HTML (webpage) tools you can use, people upload cutesy web graphics everywhere, all the time - surf till ya find what you like, there is NO REASON you cannot do what you love and want to do with the net for little or nothing! Search for HTML help, java tutorials, the works! I used to have hobby pages loaded online myself, and my sister has her own hobbies and interests posted online (with a bit of her creations visible in there for sale also!)
Good Luck, too! And once all the new knowledge has frazzled you to the point of no return, use your cash for a well-earned vacation!!

Report AbuseTake time and plan it. Dont rush into something just to do it. Think about your goals, expectations, what you want it to look and feel like.
If you are planning to pay someone to design it, find some sites that you like and tell the designer what you like about that site.

Report AbuseHello, new to blogging, don't even understand completely what it is. Is it just chat with opinions? At any rate, folks were a lot friendlier when I was on line years ago. They would chat on games and such. How do you make money from having a web site? Or does it just cost money? Unless you are selling stuff? Well, will shut up and read. lol

Report AbuseWebsites can ... not always do but they can make money from the number of "clicks" they get on their site.
I have no plans to sell anything but myself and my stories ... if others like what I have to say or if they don't like what I have to say they will "click" on my site and in about 10 years from now I will make some pennies.
