New Book Club- for anyone who loves to read!

I want to start a book club! We pick a book per month and discuss it as we progress through... anyone interested? I just started reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey and love both fiction and nonfiction reads... One of my favorites was My Sister's Keeper... I find that I am more motivated to read when I have someone to discuss the content with!

Miss Dani, I have not read A million Pieces but I do love to read. WORSE is If I love a book I keep it. I have some I read several times. Sometimes years in between readings so it is like visiting with a distant cousin or friend you havent seen in awhile.

I think your idea of starting a book club is EXCELLENT.

Put me down for half a dozen- After you're done with Frey, I've been where he pretends he was and I could have told 'O' it was complete B.S. as soon as I almost finished it. I think if you are going to write Biographical fiction like that, you should make the editors note to that effect otherwisw YOU ARE NOT being honest with your readers. And without the trust of your readers you might as well write for the 'Enqirer' or 'FOX NEWS'.............N.W.

Miss Dani, I think we should pick our book first. And honey MAY is the perfect time to start a book. (Dont you love sitting outside and seeing the garden while you read?) Minnesota, May is almost BUG free...lol

Ok so for the book, do you think we should pick one that is on the bestsellers list or just wing it? I didnt read A million Pieces when it first came out, then there was the controversy over the book and that it was really a work of Fiction. Or maybe they should call it NON-NON-Fiction, (Dont to negatives make a positive?)But since I am not partial to liars, I kind of decided I wouldnt a penny in his pocket by buying the book.

I do love the Odd Thomas series. Have read them all. I am not much for reading up on self-help as I think I am perfect. lol Ok I see need for improvement too often and once aware of a problem, my OCD forces me to fix it.

    Ok, I cant decide.

You pick the book this MONTH. I get Next months pick.

NW can be third in line.

    What is your pick cutie?

Sounds like fun. I love to read, and I also love to talk about what I read and also write about what I've read. I have not read A Million Little Pieces but I'm reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and I highly recommend it.

Feel free to message me when you set up your book club and let me know what the first book is going to be!

I'm in! I'm reading several books at once, but the one I'm really into now is "Rhett Butler's People" by Donald McCaig. It is GREAT! Also "Wonderful Tonight" by Patty Boyd. This is kind of my generation, and I haven't gotten that far, but I bet it's great too! Soooo, what's the book going to be?

Oh yay, I am very happy about the interest in the book club!!! I'm almost finished with a Million Little Pieces, and there is quite a bit of controversy about it anyway, so let's see here...

For our very first book and in the spirit of the start of summer, I am going to pick one that is not a new release at all, but is one that I have wanted to read for some time now- Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. Has anyone read? It has been on my list for ages, and I think now is the perfect time to finally get it done...

I've got a list going for future picks, so let me know as you come across books and I will add them.
