I have several friends and family members who choose to home school in order that their children be given a Christian education and not be exposed to propaganda or peer pressure in their early years. Two of my nieces went on to public school about three years ago and have done well, participate in activities and bring knowledge to school as much as from. They have seemed so much more prepared to make informed choices and they still do some of the "teen" stuff but not to tragic ends. To think there was a time we prayed in school, pledged the US flag and sang songs together. Having weapons in school was unheard of, there wasn't a thought given to colors we wore and bandanas were used to wipe a hard working face, tie a womans hair back, wipe greasy hands or runny noses. There are many young people who have no concept of that time and people in their twenties having babies only dressing the child only in certain colors.?????? Sometime back I saw a little boy, under two years old, whose parents had already given him multiple earrings in one ear and gaged the other to the point the child could put his finger in it. Some will say that child welfare should get involved. I WAS in a DHS center helping someone else when I saw the boy and it didn't seem to attract the attention of other DHS workers. People in correctional custody aren't allowed to tattoo, brand or otherwise alter their bodies, they'll catch a felony charge if they do but these "parents" mutilate a child and it's ok. I have very old history books and look back on what I was taught in high school and college. In conversations with educators I have learned that certain information is altered and/or removed over time to make room for current history. I hear comments that Obama is bringing change...(head shaking)...what kind of change? Get informed. Many people seem to look at his skin color or debate his religion but that is not important to me if he is to have the true best interest of the United States and we citizens. We are all different in many ways but we are all like "pillow cases"; when you shake the case the same thing falls out. Stop looking at the illusion of what you think is great change and dig into information of what the real changes are only beginning to do to OUR country. I am still stunned at the number of people who are afraid to speak out, be different or actually lobby their local and state politicians. Do you know you can go to your state capital and speak with your elected and appointed officials? It is almost more than I can think about when I consider what kind of world my children and grandchildren may very well live in. Socialism and Communism are being thrown around; look at the government healthcare plans being proposed or the bailouts that put goverment in controlling interest.
