Palin v. Biden: Your opinion here
editor
So, did the most-anticipated
vice presidential debate in at least two decades live up to the
hype? After Alaska Governor Sarah Palin turned in some shaky
answers during network interviews in recent weeks, the focus of
last night's debate was squarely on whether she could stand her
ground opposite a Washington pro like Joe Biden. There were no
YouTube-worthy gaffes, as Michael Crowley of The New Republic
says, and plenty of the "aw-shucks, regular-folks Palin
personality, with no effort to turn it into anything else," as
The Wall
Street Journal's Gerald Seib writes. Biden reined in his
folksy, rhetorical style, while Palin dropped her g's and sprinkled
her responses with enough winks, darn rights, doggone its, bless
her hearts, and you betchas to hands-down win the most
down-home-debate-style award.
Here on Shine, Joanna Douglas on Entertainment wonders
if Palin's debate performance has changed your opinion about
whether the Alaska governor is prepared to serve as vice president.
On Work + Money, I take a look at how the two candidates
represented their tickets on money issues, including the bailout,
the mortgage crisis and health care. And Healthy Living's Jessica
Ashley gave us a
meditation for the debate that we can continue to use this
election season. (By the way, did you play the
Palin debate bingo Jessica recommended?)
Now that the one-and-only Palin-Biden debate is over, let's hear
what you think about how the candidates performed, and whether what
they said and how they said it will affect your vote in November.
