Dr. Fredric J. Baur was a retired chemist and food storage technician for Pringles owner Proctor and Gamble back in 1970 when he patented the design of the now-infamous Pringles chip tube. Well, this is he had a strange request: that when he died his famous invention be used as the receptacle to hold his ashes. The request was recently honored as Dr. Baur passed away at 89 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Not to make a bad joke, but seriously: his family members better keep the tube away from the kitchen!
In tribute to Pringles we’ve researched and found amazing flavors in different countries we’d love to try: South America’s Filet Mignon, Japan’s Funky Soy Sauce, Canada’s Cinnamon Sweet Potato, Australia’s Light aromas Greek Style Cheese with a touch of Avocado Oil and the now defunct limited edition Mac n Cheese. Perhaps this obituary wasn’t supposed to make us hungry, but we see no problem in supporting a terrific creation. Remember, once you pop, you can’t stop! [Telegraph]
