Racial Healing and John McCain
partner

Few issues have impacted American culture and society more
than race. From the beginning of the country, to the Civil War, to
the Civil Rights Movement, it has blanketed the collective
psyche in issues of power, discrimination and oppression. Now with
the election of Obama, it apprears that we are at another juncture
-- one of healing.

I am touched by the reports
that people of all races, strangers even, embraced when
Obama's victory became official. The last time strangers
hugged was 9/11, and that was for vastly different reasons.
Now, Martin Luther King's dream seems like it can,
in fact, be realized.

I have
discussed Obama's connection to Lincoln; what about John
McCain's role in race relations? I don't think
McCain is anywhere near being a racist. In fact, he
refused to overtly race-bait in his campaign, said
no to airing incendiary ads with Reverend Wright,
and even defended Obama at his rallies as a decent man
when the racial thermometer got hot. He is
rightly commended for this, and more.

Some may
not know that in family lineage, the McCain
family were slave owners (as were many at the
time). I remember reading a Wall St. Journal article
about descendants of slaves named McCain (from
John's family history) who are passionate about an Obama
win. Seeing black people named McCain brought to
mind that this issue still lingers today, and can in fact be
healed. The two presidential candidates symbolically have a role in
this process.

The astrology of election night
does indicate racial healing. In my first blog,
I discussed how Uranus/Venus pertains to relating to
others in terms of unity rather than as members of groups.
The T-square with Saturn for the election brings this to
an historical (Saturn) context.
Saturn/Uranus is a titanic clash between the old
ways and a new paradigm, with the addition in Venus in Sagittarius,
it takes the form of joining together (Venus) in collective purpose
(Sagittarius).

John McCain's progressed
Venus is at 21 degrees Sagittarius in his Tenth House, exactly
where transiting Venus was on election night. This shows how his
development (progression) in terms of social dynamics
(Venus), in his public life (Tenth
House), is conjoined with the spirit of the Uranus/Saturn/Venus
configuration described above. McCain also had the Uranus/Saturn
opposition sitting on his natal Venus in Virgo.

McCain natally has a Cancer South Node in the Fourth
House. This pertains to soul lessons about his family
history. We know that he is part of a
long family history of military service. Also, his
powerful family was a part of slave
ownership. His Tenth House North Node in
Capricorn is an intention to forge a solid career on his
own terms. Furthermore, his Saturn in the First House (the
North Node ruler) is in Pisces: sign of healing, compassion and
endings. Transiting Uranus (breakthrough, progress) has been
conjunct his Saturn for the entire election
season.

I think that
somewhere deep, and likely unconscious, McCain knew
that his appropriate role in our collective
evolution was to lose this election to a black man,
gracefully, and with integrity. The astrology supports the idea
that he could play a central role in the process of healing, not
only for us, but for himself too. I was moved by the beauty of his
concession speech, his authentic outreach to African-Americans, as
much as I was stirred by seeing President-elect Obama.
McCain really is an American Hero, regardless of his military
service.
Discover your role in making the planet a better

Most of the people that who both for Mccain they said he is deserve to become a president of the United States because he has alot of experienced."I DON'T THINK SO! Yes he has alot of experienced but those are when he is in military service. But he doesen't have an experiece too as a president same as Obama.Obama is a real american because you can see if who and what kind of people that who both for him.We have to remember that Obama has a white blood because his Mom is White American.
