Seven T.V. Shows Men Will Never Admit to Watch or Have Watched

Men, it is time to come clean. Women, it is time for you to know the truth. Men and women have more in common than either side would like to admit. Women oftentimes complain about their men being more like boys when they inwardly would love to let loose. Men say that emotions, drama, and feelings are a woman's downfall while they want someone to open up to and be free.

With that said, one area that seems where men and women diverge is in their t.v. watching preferences. However, I have discovered that men like many of the same shows as their female counterparts, but will never admit it. With the advent of online streaming, men can continue to watch these shows in secret. So, in this article, we want to highlight a few shows that men may never confess to enjoying.

I. Gilmore Girls - Oh my God! A show about a single mother and daughter who are both maturing and growing together underscored with comedic moments. Outwardly it seems like a chick show, but some men find the showing endearing as some try to learn about their wives and daughters through the relationship on the screen.

II. Grey's Anatomy - Unlike ER, this show focuses on the strengths and woes of its female stars while men are satellites in their orbits. It does not feed the male ego as a hero like ER. Yet, your average man likes to see beautiful, strong women who are smart and can "bring home the bacon" while remaining women when they are with their men.

III. Desperate Housewives - This show is not popular for its award winning writing, but for its comely stars. It's not just millions of women tuning in, but also men secretly living out neighborhood fantasies as it unfolds on the screen.

IV. Soap Operas - "MALE Kryptonite." He will not confess that he, like women, falls prey to the allure of the "what's next" presented in these shows.

V. America's Top Model - He is tuning in for the fashion, or should I say the lack thereof. He is not concerned with who's going to make their dream come true, but rather who is going to make his come true - "Photo of beautiful woman riding a panther."

VI. Ugly Betty - Ok. I admit it. There may not be a lot of men in this subset, but they are out there. As long as Vanessa Williams, Rebecca Romjin, and other fashionistas and models make appearances, men will take a gander, though secretely following the plot twists and turns.

VII.  Melrose Place - Need I say more? Women and men were repulsed and intriqued as the plots got worse and weirder, yet did not stop tuning in, if only in secret.

Well, there are other shows out there, but these are some of the more popular shows. Again, men is time for you to 'fess up to your t.v. "guilty pleasures."

I can understand why they wouldn't watch that sappy Gilmore Girls. But , oh yes, they do watch soap operas. When I was at the university, I would stop in at the Student Center sometimes for lunch. There was a TV over the counter... and lined up there at the counter, eyes on Days of Our Lives, were four or five frat boys. Too funny.

Don't forget Sex And The City....

It's one of the "love to hate" shows...men love to hate it and watched it every week. And what man didn't want to meet Samantha? Or any of them for that matter.

Actually I got my husband into Gilmore girls when we got together, and at his urging we bought all the seasons on dvd, just so he could see them all and he will admit that he's watched it. Though he is quick to include how he got me to watch wrestling!
