Should Lourdes follow Madonna's career path?

The actor/personal trainer says, "I speak to her every day. She is very talented—she gets that from her mum. She has had advantages I never had. But it is up to her to take it to a new level in singing or acting."

Hmm… sounds like 12-year-old Lourdes is already en route to follow her mom’s career. Personally I think she should go the acting route, as she’ll have less of a hard act to follow than trying to rise from the shadow of one of the biggest pop acts of all time.

Sure, it’s a little early to discuss, but kids start early these days! What career path do you think Lourdes should pursue? [Perez]

I'm sure she is very talented like her mother but personally i think she should go into the buisness world(like corporate) because i bet she gots great buisness sense like her mom!

She has a very strong-willed mother who came from rags to riches by doing what she does best. It was a long and winding road and definitely require a heart of steel. She endured all that and came out strong and in control of her destiny. These are qualities that may have inspired the girl to emulate her mother. If I were Madonna, I'd be flattered and would encourage her to live her life as normal as she can possibly can. Of course, I can imagine Madonna being the overprotective mom, but also has the open mind to listen to what her children have to say as far as their future is concerned. Mothers live for their children and I can that about Madonna despite all the ups and downs in her career and love life. Lourdes should stay close to her mom and continue to be inspired.

Who can say what will happen in the next 15-20 years. Madonna had to bathe in a dirty sink in an abandoned warehouse for a long time before she got noticed.. (pretty sure about that)

Creation out of desperation! Lourdes probably has a trust fund larger than the GNP of a small country.

apples do fall close to their mother-tree, but we are talking about 2 totally different life experience.

Neither. She should be allowed to be a kid.

Of course her father says she is talented. Which parent is going to say, to the press no less, that their kid is a talentless hack? None.

Too many kids are pushed to stardom too young, and that's how we end up with the Lindsey Lohans and Britney Spears of the world. If poor Miley Cyrus makes it to 18 without checking into rehab at least once, it will be a miracle. Let Lourdes just be a kid.
