Tatum O'Neal arrested for drug posession

The former child star who won a Oscar for her role in Paper Moon has been arrested for allegedly buying the trashiest of all drugs, crack, in NYC.

This makes us sad.

It seems that O'Neal has, in general, had a tough life, full of emotional distress. Her mother abandoned her at the age of 7, struggled with drug addiction as a teen, and later went on to marry tennis star John McEnroe, resulting in an abusive relationship and nasty divorce. Whew. Where was Dr. Drew and Celebrity Rehab back then?
