I have to say I've always been a fan of Jon and Kate Plus 8. I
liked it and followed it pretty closely until season 4ish and I
even have my favorite among the kids. :) It was a good show.
Like most I've followed the tabloid stories and paparazzi
stories surrounding both Jon and Kate after season 4 AKA when the
divorce tabloids started going. Since then, I haven't really
watched the show since the heart-warming factor is gone.
Now for this Team Kate or Team Jon (or lack there of) business.
I'm trying to get more of an objective view, because none of us
truly know what's going on in their lives. Before, the tabloid
coverage would slather both parents in a bad light, but now they
seem to be focusing on Jon. Personally, I'm not on either side,
but I'm a bit annoyed that Jon seems to get all the flack in
this battle. I know what replies I'm going to get "Jon is
a lush" "Jon parties too much" "Jon needs to
get a life" etc.
However, I'm pretty sure this is because Jon is the most
prominent in tabloids. To me, Jon seems to be reacting to all the
media focusing on him rather than Kate. Yes Jon needs to get a job,
but you know what? So does Kate. What replies am I going to get to
this? "Kate is supporting her kids this way"
Blahblahblah, I'm just glad even if Jon did this out of selfish
reasons, the show has stopped (at least temporarily) and they both
need to get their crap straight. Who knows? To me, it looks like
Kate looks like she's trying to be the good mother and come out
smelling like roses, but I think she's just as bad as Jon. But
I think they're both equally in the wrong.
I just feel a bit bad for Jon as he's trying to be defensive,
and he can't even defend himself. Kate looks like she's
trying to be the martyr and most people seem to be on her side. I
think people need to remember she's the one who's got the
show and most of the media's control.
Team Jon: Kate is a b****. Kate treated him badly. Kate is trying
to demonize him.
Team Kate: Jon needs to get a life. Jon needs to get his crap
straight. Jon is spending money. (Though really, all that stuff
needs to be privatized, cause you know, the public has no right to
really judge, and I don't see how anyone knows anyone
else's personal information.)
To me, it looks like Team Kate will win, but I'm pretty sure
both sides have lies, and I just think Team Kate has
advantages.
It doesn't seem fair to shut out and demonize Jon when
they're both in the wrong.

Report AbuseI was on Team Jon at the beginning only because thru my years in watching the show there were many times I thought Kate was demeaning to him and not giving him the opprotunity to have a voice in the relationship. Now I am all the way Team Kate. It is clear to me now that she had to be the forcefull one in the relationship because really and truly she had 9 kids, Jon was more like a child who needs to be told and with her raising 8 kids she did not have the time to dedicate to helping a grown man.
I think most of his descions have shown extremly poor judgement. I commend Kate for saying as little as possible while Jon tries every way he can to denounce her to the media, does he not realize his kids will see or hear the things he says about their mother? Now he comes out and says she spanks the kids, that she is strict, well I for one think with 8 kids you need to be strict and have discipline. there is a difference between a swat on the butt and abuse and I do NOT believe for one minute she is abusive. What I do believe is that Jon is a moron and Kate will be better off.
