To get that much needed morning coffee, I wait for that sound...you know it
the drizzling sound, the sputter that tells you...I'm ready, come get me!
Once armed with the fortification that I need to wake up my mind,
next, I hear the familiar drones of my computer, followed by that ever
ever popular theme song (windows version of tubular bells).
I am now ready to begin.
The tweet, the facebook, the myspace, 2 blogs, 2 websites emails and shine an occasional
re-route to this next best thing, photobucket, youTube and my personal favorite Singsnap.
Oh, and, just a brief sidetrack, this list is probably short compared to other
small business owners who are trying to optimize their visibility.
Ok, back on track.
We start with a little Tweet on Twitter! Ah...the quiet whispers of my friends who have
mastered the art of saying so much in 140 characters. It appeals to me because
it's just a little like talking to yourself (something I am getting familiar with) : )
Awake now, I am ready for Facebook, a faster pace to be sure. Everyone is chattering
about the moments in their day (much more personal) sharing songs and pictures,
stories about carpooling the kids or what is the latest news that changed the rythyms
of their daily routines. Full of fun little applications that if you allow them, will transport you
away from your purpose into a world of "what kind of pet are you" or "which Grey's Anatomy Charachter are you" or my goodness..."So you think you can sing". Actually the best
part of FB is the chat and the ability to keep connected in "real time". I take advantage of
this to keep up with friends, co- workers, and my family.
Myspace is next... Yes, never underestimate the power of your own space!
This is where I get intimate, I play my favorite songs on the music player, while
I easily connect with hundreds of people that I have found there who share my interest.
Ability to share what Genesis is, who I am, what I support, and to do so in such a
creative way and personal way. Myspace is not just for kids. It is in fact a powerful
network. As you visit the profiles of your "friends" you get a glimpse into each
personality. And believe me...there are plenty of sounds, beats and rhythms to be heard.
Now that I have connected to all of these wonderful people, been inspired, and seen the latest
news. It is time for the beat of my fingers against the keyboard. A fast paced tappity tap that
spews out of me into the BLOG. A challenging effort. Here you must be... interesting.
Ok... hmmmm... well.... what to say.... those are my usual first responses then, it just comes out
I try to imagine that I am just having a conversation with you.
Not done yet, check orders, check e mails,go to the websites, check the stats, update, Check on YouTube, recommend on This Next Best Thing, Post the latest pics on Photobucket and Flickr, HTM..What? Flv...Who! That was a fun learning curve. More like a Indy speedway! I think I figured it out now, though! But the SEO, still has me going nuts!
And when I get done...if I am not crosseyed from the glare of the screen (which is not often). I visit my favorite site on the internet. SingSnap.com. Being a singer,it's my valium. A place where I almost never speak of business.Where I let my hair down and sing to my hearts content. I listen to the soothing sounds of friends singing. Finally I sign off.. the tubular bells play as Windows shuts down and my business day is done.
Happy entrepreneurship...fellow business friends~ Jo Anne
