The Fallout From Local Job Loss !

I`m not sure why this is bothering me so much, well maybe that is not true,it is because  all do is get told how bad I am for working in a place where the prices are so high. The same people tell me this every week, Why do they come back if we are so high ? All I here is how bad things are out there money wise, so why is there such long lines to get a table at a restaurant ? Why is it every time I go to get something that is on sale at the store they are sold out ? I work retail  and all I her is how prices are going up and up and they are going to stop shopping at my store. Then in the next minute they go over and buy $20 - $ 30 dollars of dog clothes or snacks, not food the dogs need or flea medication they really could use. I don`t see the reason they have to take it out on the people who are working hard to keep their job and it is not our fault the prices are out of sight. I know there are a lot of people out of work and I wish I could help them, but when I see them buy things that are not needed and then not buy the medications for their animals I have no sympathy. If people would stop driving around and stop buying useless stuff and eat out less and stop smoking when the packs cost $6.00 a pack , they would have more money. If they don`t smoke then they come in smelling like a bottle of whiskey and what is worse when they smell like both ! People need to stop the spending and driving around and eat at home more. If there is less demand for those things the prices will go down and maybe they will have enough to buy the needed things for their kids and their pets.
I know you all will not agree with me, but those of us who work retail with little or no respect from our employers or the customers need a place to vent. Even when I`m not at work and I am out shopping I keep in mind what I feel when a rude person is in my line or yelling at me so I treat the people behind the counter with kindness unless they are rude to me. So how is your shopping experience been in the last few months ? Are you hearing what I am hearing out there about not having any money to spend ?   I just don`t see it in the stores. I do see them buying cheaper dog food and being silly enough to buy the extra stuff to put in the cheap food to make it better and they end up spending the same or more ! WHY ! Where I work is in a middle income area and I know a lot of people are having a very hard time, I am one of them and I am glad my work is not laying off right now. I don`t complain at work or make a big deal of little things right now because there are so many people out there to take my place here.I make sure I am on time and do what I am asked to do, and when I am called in  because some one has called off I gladly do it, they have been cutting hours you see. It could be worse for me so I try to be thankful for my employment, I do think the company is taking advantage of the situation though, to rid themselves of unwanted workers. I do try to help people if I know for sure that they are having a very hard time, by giving coupons or a discount or find them a comparable product for a lower price, but if they are ever rude they will get no help from me. I would love to hear from other retail workers out there about your experiences.
