The Grey Knight...Origins

The Grey Knight...Origins

On the planet Shai, lived a people unlike any known to humans.
They were doppelgangers, shape shifters that could take any form.
One stood out, he choose to imitate humans.
He tried to imitate the Dark Gods, but found it to be full of madness and was not ready for it.
His name is, Gealan, a being who was to one day become the Grey Knight.
Gealan, wore many suits of armor, before becoming the Grey Knight.
The first suit of armor he wore, he took form a temple belonging to the Dark Gods.
He was warned by the divine not to, but he ignored the warning.
Gealan, was to full of pride and anger, he felt he deserved a suit of armor.
He did not want to earn it, he did not want to study with the monks, that followed the the divine.
The monks warned Gealan about wearing the suit of armor from the Dark Gods.
They tell him it will corrupt his soul and mind, but he ignores their lecture.
"Fools!, I do not care, I wish to be a god and need the power of the armor," says Gealan.
The monks shake their heads and tell Gealan to leave the chapel, he is not to return.
They will only allow him back, if he leaves the evil path he is about to travel, the path of madness.
"Never!, I will be all powerful, no one will ever stop me, not even you or the Divine," Gealan says with a snarl.
Gealan walks out of the chapel of the Divine and begins his walk toward the path of madness.
He wonders the planet Shai, trying to attain his goal of ultimate power.
Finally out of the watchful eyes of the monks, Gealan places the armor of the dark gods on.
The armors power flows through Gealan's body and his soul's aura glows black.
He feels the hate course through him from the armor and now has become closer to being a dark god.
Now he is ready to complete his transformation to being a true dark god and rule all of Shai.
Gealan's madness grew everyday as he continued to wear the armor and it causes him to murder.
He found that his true self was slipping away and soon his soul would go to the depths of he11.
As he wondered around Shai, he comes across a small village, near the kingdom of Dykal.
There humans lived, beings like Gealan, were unknown to them.
None knew what beings lived beyond their village, most never strayed beyond the Zkal mountains.
Gealan took this to his advantage and proceeded to slaughter all in the village.
None in the village were spared of his his attack, not even the children.
When he was done, 200 bodies were left in his wake and with this evil deed, Gealan's madness grew more.
The armor of the dark gods grew in power from the blood that was spilled that day.
Gealan's armor was covered in blood and was sight no one was to ever want to see.
The armor absorbed the blood and it's power unleashed, he now knew how the armor worked.
More, I need more blood to grow more powerful, thinks Gealan.
He leaves the village and travels towards the kingdom of Dykal.
As he travels to the kingdom, he slaughters more innocents and the armor continues to grow in power.
Reaching Dykal, Gealan's power was now unmatched by any being, even humans.
Gealan enters the castle of Dykal and begins to slaughter all those he sees as he walks through the castle.
The king, Marque, sent his best knights to deal with Gealan, but it was no good and the knights were defeated.
Finally in the throne room, Gealan faces the king and speaks to him.
"This where I will rule all of Shai, your throne shall be mine," says Gealan.
"Creature, you will not ever sit on my throne, I swear it on my last breath," says Marque.
The king readies his sword and charges at Gealan full force.
Gealan easily dodges the king's attack and kicks him across the throne room.
Marque bounces off a pillar in the throne room and lands on his knees.
"Curse you foul creature, you shall not defeat me easily," says Marque.
Standing the king once again readies his sword and charges at Gealan again.
This time Gealan swings his sword and hits his mark, the king's neck.
He removes the king's head and watches as it rolls across the throne room.
Laughing, Gealan goes to the body and has the armor absorb the blood.
Yes, yes, I now shall rule Shai, I am now a god!, thinks Gealan.
He goes to the throne and sits in it, the power of the armor spreads though out the castle.
The castle changes, it goes from grey to black as night, now the evil of the armor is felt.
In the village outside of the castle, people begin to panic and flee, fearing the darkness will envelop them as well.
Those that do not make it out in time, become undead servants of Gealan.
The knights that were still in the castle becomes Gealan's undead army.
The kingdom of Dykal becomes, Shai'Lute, the dark god Gealan's home.
Now that he has a kingdom, he needs more knights for his army and travels to near by villages to recruit new ones.
His army of knights grows from 200 to 2000 in a just two days.
As he searches for more servants, he also gathers generals to lead his army of the undead.
Gealan finds, three, a woman named Tya, a young man named Yul and a dragon named Vyol.
In a months time he has conquered more kingdoms of Shai and adds to his army, meeting few to resist his army and power.
The Divine is not happy with Gealan and has decided to hand down a punishment on his head, they send out one of their servants, a reaper.
The reaper is sent to wait for Gealan in the forest of Cy in the area of Gyol, he will not have to wait long.
Now happy with his kingdom's growth, Gealan now goes out to conquer every corner of the planet Shai.
Two years pass and half the planet is in his control, he travels to the white chapel, to kill the monks of the Divine.
On his way to the white chapel of the Divine, Gealan travels through the forest of Cy.
There his confronted by the reaper sent by the Divine and stares at the reaper.
The reaper stands at the entrance to the forest's meadow and looks at Gealan.
Gealan is angry and knows he must defeat the reaper in order to continue to the white chapel.
"You will not get past me, creature, I have been sent to stop you," says the reaper.
"Fool!, you cannot defeat a god, no one can defeat a dark god, not even you," says Gealan.
"Yes, you can be defeated, a reaper is more powerful than a dark god, that is why they fear us," says the reaper.
Gealan readies his sword and charges at the reaper.
The reaper disappears and then appears behind Gealan.
"Fool, you are not that powerful, I must destroy that armor you wear and hand you your punishment," says the reaper.
Before Gealan can turn, the reaper uses his scythe to remove the armor from Gealan.
In a quick flash the scythe cuts through the armor and it is split in half.
"No!, what have you done, my power is fading," says Gealan.
The reaper does not answer, he uses his magic to bind Gealan with invisible ties.
Gealan, is unable to move and knows that his life is about to end soon.
"Be quick and kill me, creature," says Gealan with a look of anger in his eyes.
"Your punishment is not death, but to live in the black forest of Hydra,"
"There you'll live till your penance is paid, surrounded by the bodies of the innocents you have murdered," says the reaper.
Once again the reaper uses his magic and they are transported to the black forest.
"Here you will help others confront what they run from and wake them to see the truth," says the reaper.
Gealan bows his head, he is broken and defeated, he is ready for his punishment.
The reaper frees him of the magic that restrains him and goes up to Gealan.
"You will wear the grey armor, the armor of penance and redemption," says the reaper.
As Gealan stands, he feels the magic of the reaper flow through him.

He now wears the grey armor and is given a grey sword.
"You are no longer Gealan, you are the Grey Knight of the black forest," says the reaper.
"Here is your home, until the Divine sees fit to end your punishment,"
"Yes, I have been a fool, I accept my punishment, reaper," says the Grey Knight.
The Grey Knight goes to a hallow in the forest, there ironically is a throne, made of vines and branches.
He sits on the throne and waits to help those that run from their past and leave their life's path.
Can you guess who his first confrontation is?
Yes, the Black Knight.
The Grey Knight goes to confront the Black Knight, in the field of grey, were the bodies of past victims are found.
He confronts the Black Knight and speaks to him.
Remember one of his lines, the words he speaks to the Black Knight.
"To continue through the forest, you must get through me."
Now we must leave the Grey Knight and I must now prepare the story of the battle ahead.
