I do not want to become one of those women who wither and die when their kids leave home. Quilting and bridge have been suggested but I fell asleep before I heard all the benefits of engaging in these activities.
If I don't come up with something soon, I may end up wandering around Wal-Mart with a kitten sweatshirt and a tight perm ( http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ ). If that happens, I give all of you permission to shoot to kill.
I start my new career as a massage therapist in January and it will not come soon enough. I hope doing something I love will bring new energy into my life.

Report AbuseGood for you Emma. Nice to see you Shining in so many ways. I took up painting a couple of years ago (I'm 58) and my work has surpassed that which I could have expected (without any formal art training). It can be done and you can do it........... Massage is a wonderful way to help others and from what my hubby tells me giving a massage also has return benefits to the masseuse. Wishing you much joy in your new endeavor. Hope you stop by my place to let me know how you are doing. I also have one of my paintings up on my WEE WEE HOURS post. It is of a picture of a woman's face that I saw in my curtain one day at sunset as the sun came in through some condensation on the bow window. I also won a blue ribbon in our local County Fair this year for a painting I did of a Spring Lamb. Go for it, Emma. You'll be amazed at what you can do. God bless!
