Jackson. Aware that star power is stronger than any recession, Scarlett went on the “Tonight Show,” blew her nose, and put the tissue up for auction on eBay.

After 64 bids, the current sale price is $2151. Sure, the money will be going to the charity USA Harvest, but who are these bidders willing to fork over big bucks for somebody’s mucus?

Do you admire Scarlett’s charitable act, or do you think people are so star struck they’ll bid on anything? I think it's hilarious. I think she's making a point how ridiculous people are by actually bidding on her used tissue, but I think she's taking advantage of that for the good of charity. Hey, if people are willing to dish out thousands for a snotty tissue from some star, they deserve to be parted from their money.

hey, if it works and it's not hurting anyone, it's fine. it may be stupid and a little gross, but if she's giving to charity, what's the harm done?

i doubt people are actually bidding to own the tissue.

they are bidding for the charity plus they get to say "i bet on that stupid tissue and i won! for a charitable cause"

Personally, I find it funny when stars extort money from people for the sake of charity. What kind of looney toon wants a used tissue from anyone? I think it's great to exploit people's weird celeb obsessions for a good cause. These people get harassed day in and out by the paparazzi, might as well use that status for the greater good.
