Tonight's debate: Gloves, nastiness, and, oh yeah, the economy
editor
With all the talk of
gloves coming off and the news focus on the
nasty, nasty things being said on the campaign trail this week,
let's hope the economy and the scary mess we find ourselves in is
not forgotten in tonight's presidential debate, the second meeting
of Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.
At least
six million questions have been submitted via the Internet by
interested voters who want to hear some answers from the
candidates. There will be time for 15 to 20 questions posed by NBC's Tom
Brokaw, who says he will follow up with questions after some of the
candidates' responses. What a concept: A follow-up question at a debate.
I'll be listening for candidates to address the economic crisis in a way that convinces us one of them is the right man to lead us through these next four difficult years. Here's hoping the economy is front and center before any gloves
come off.
What questions about the economy and other money issues do you want to hear answers to tonight?

I hope the blame game stays out of this debate.
We need some positive information to help
the american citizens. I hope a clear leader emerges.
