Transgender...it's not my fault, it's biological while in the womb!

user

I have struggled for over 35 years to come to grips with wondering why I have felt the way I do inside. Through reasearch and studing I have found out and come to the realization that I am transgender. This is not easy for me, nor anybody else who has been dealing with this. Male and female can be transgender and it's not our fault that we are this way. During your time in the womb if the genetics don't hit all at the correct times during development people can have feels of being the opposite sex inside, but have the physical sex organs of the other on the outside. Society says if you look physically man then you need to act like a man! I have missed over 35 years of my life because of that! Inside I feel like a women, but I have to suppress those emotions and feels to be the physical man that everybody see's on the outside! All I ask is for people to research and study to understand why a person is this way before they judge that individual. I would like to see the public educated on the issues that transgenders go through. Trangenders are not the same a homosexual. We all have a brain sex that can be different then our outer sex organs and that is where the transgender comes in. I have a few friends and family that know I am transgender and they all support me and have ask questions to understand for their own knowledge. I hope that I will get a good response from all and it be positive! My best to all of you

How do you know you're a transgender, and not a gay person? did you go to a geneticist and view your caryotype? Maybe you're still a man on the inside...just suppositions aren't enough i guess. Otherwise, you know, it's ok to be gay. It's a free world and a short life.

Thanks for the support in the Chaz Bono forum..I never contribute to those things usually, but just wanted to try and set the record straight, never even occurred to me that I would encounter another TS..some will never ever get it however and will be forever narrow minded. To answer respectfully as possible the young lady above..well, it's complicated for sure. Usually a gay person is comfy in their own skin, has no desire to change gender and are happy with their sexual identity. We are anything but happy in our own skin, want to tear it off like a horrendous Halloween costume and be our true selves..heck, it's not even about sex..it's about identity. We truly are genies trapped inside a bottle. We know our bodies don't match our brain sex..as I said, complicated. Consider how easy it is to just be gay, closeted or open and then all the life changing pain and agony that accompanies a trans change..no one would ever make that as a choice if it was indeed just a choice. It is ok to be gay, if you are..but we're not. To see me, you see a woman..and thats all I feel like. Anyway, blessing to you both!
