I am a new poster, but have commented on other blogs before.
I would like to start a Pet Obit section on Shine and also have one started up in my home county of Polk County, FL on www.polkvoice.com which is called Paws in Heaven.
My almost 13 year old yellow lab was aging and having several health problems that just got worse in a hurry, and she had to be euthanized almost 3 weeks ago. It will be 3 weeks on Tuesday July 14.
She gave us many years of companionship and great lovin'. We loved her and miss her very much. She is in heaven with God and is bouncing around in the clouds playing and having a great time..

Report AbuseHi jdp,
I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful yellow lab :(
We had to put Levi - our family black lab - down in April. She too, was 13 years old. She unfortunately fell getting out of the car (oddly it was on a ride back from the doggy dermatologist) and turned her leg in a way that would never heal correctly even with the right surgery. It also meant more meds and the poor girl was already on a lot of meds as it was. It was unanimous that she was hurting terribly and that we had to put her down. It was hard for our family, but I can honestly say that she looked like her young, happy, puppy self at the moment she passed.
Thank you for giving me this chance to remember her!

Report AbuseJDP, my heart goes out to you. A pet is a family member and sometimes, I know I liked my cat better than my teenagers. Your attitude is fantastic. I think any woman that thinks of others in her time of saddness and grief and puts up a post for a PET MEMORIAL is someone that the HR depts should be fighting to get. You have versatle, have excellent communication skills and are multitalented.
Thank you again for your kindness,
Emma Mae

Brenda, how can I get the blog title in the daily search list? It comes up in search when typing "pet obit" as keyword, but it's not on the daily or weekly list.
