What's all this I hear about Blogging?

Ok, so I have heard about blogging, but have only a vague understanding of what it means. I've read the info at the side so I am going to jump right in!!

Hmmm, now what? What could I possibly have to say that could be remotely interesting? Not sure but having read some of the inane stuff you read on the web, I suppose I could write about anything, but do I really what to add to it?

So, what am I interested in? Where the bloody hell's the spell checker? I'll have to write this in word and cut and paste, great!!

Anyway where was I ?

So what to write about, what do I like? Food and drink are a good start-- I had a great meal tonight roast chicken and ham,  and a good wine. The wine was nothing expensive, a Campo Viejo Rioja which is relatively cheap but quite good and well it was a really good meal so we also had a Marqués De Cáceres 2005 another Rioja, There were four of us!!!

One of my friends bought along a great gadget, if gadgets the right word, it was a gismo to aerate the wine. I had some recollection that red wine tastes better if it has had time to breath, but never really given it much thought. Usually after the first couple of swigs it mellows somewhat! Well they poured a glass of wine through this gismo and another straight from the bottle, bear in mind the bottle had just been opened.

We then proceeded to test the water so to speak, I am a bit of a sceptic but was very surprised that there was a major difference in the taste. The one which had been though the gismo was soooo much smootherrrrr! I could not believe the difference, I reckon it put at least a tenner on the price of the wine, and believe me I am no connoisseur.

Anyway I was so impressed I went straight on to Amazon and ordered one. Here are the web addresses, check it out They will make great Christmas presents.

Ok, so enough of that. the weathers been pretty crap today, overcast and windy, first time in ages. I suppose we have to expect the odd crappy day though. Oh, forgot to say I live in Spain, the  weather has been pretty warm for the time of year, I feel for people back in Blighty getting rained off. Terrible to see the news, of all the flooding. We have our woe's here though, last weekend whilst watch Strictly Come Dancing, we started smelling smoke. On further investigation I looked outside and we had a raging fire heading straight for us  across the campo driven by a very high wind!! Ten minutes later we were in the car with baby, dogs and all, heading hell for leather up the road with flames licking around the arse end of the car.

We all got out ok, but from the next hill the house looked like it was going to be destroyed. Two hours later I managed to blag my way passed the Police and Fireman, and got back to the house to lock up, if there was anything left and try to find the cats, who had run off in the panic. The garden was pretty much burnt out and the porch was still on fire, which I promptly put out. On the whole though we were lucky, and the insurance looks like they are going to play ball. It's a bit smelly in the house though, still we don't have to worry about another fire for at least a year now as there's nothing left to burn!! Oh, and the cat's turned up as if nothing happed, just wanted to be fed, charming!!

Anyway Enough for my first blog. I wonder if anyone will read it?
