width="170" align="right">I was going through my music
this morning. Playing songs that I hadn’t heard in
what feels like forever even though I thought I’d never leave
them behind. You remember those songs from your teenage
years…

My teenage years consisted of
hippie music. We called it hippie music anyway. It was folky, rock,
a little bit country… The Who, The Rolling Stones, Carly
Simon, James Taylor, The Eagles, Three Dog Night. I was crazy for
all of it. I don’t think a day went by between the years of
1980 and 1987 that I didn’t listen to my hippie music.

Of course I still listen to music today but not
like I used to listen to it. I used to blast it so loud I’m
amazed I still have my hearing. As soon as I would get home from
school, into my room I would go to listen to my new album or
single. Yes, we still had vinyl albums and singles back then. I
remember having a Queen single with Another One Bites The
Dust on one side and We Will Rock
You on the other side. I swear I played it until it just
fell apart.

Now it seems like I only get to
hear music if I’m in the car. Every now and then I remember
to turn it on while I’m cleaning or working out. But usually
the television is on and honestly I just don’t think about
it.

Today I did think about it. I played my CCR
cd. It was awesome. Bad Moon Rising, As Long As I Can See
The Light. Took me back to some pretty crazy but really
good years.

What’s your favorite song
from your teenage years? How about band? I’d definitely have
to say my favorite song from those days is You’ve
Got A Friend by James Taylor. And AC/DC is by far my
favorite
