We're excited to announce that Yahoo! Food is coming
over to Yahoo! Shine! All of the great
things you loved about Yahoo! Food will be combined with new and
improved interactive features to help you make the perfect meal.
So, break out the bubbly!
Here's a taste of what you can expect:
- Over 5,000 exclusive recipes - many brand new - from Better Homes & Gardens, author of America 's favorite cookbook.
- A "What's for Dinner" meal planner to help you shake up the routine with great-tasting meals every day of the week.
- Improved recipe searches where you can filter results by main ingredient, cooking method, dietary concern, and more.
- Find that elusive perfect recipe in one of the 100+ subcategories of the new "Recipe Browse" page. Need help with a baby meal with five or fewer ingredients that can be cooked in a microwave? Just click the refinement buttons on the search results page, and we'll narrow the list down to the recipe you want.
As if THAT wasn't enough to get your cravings going, you'll also find gorgeous recipe pages that you can rate, comment on, share with friends, and see related recipes.
As always on Shine, we encourage you to blog about your own food experiences. We love reading about recent restaurant discoveries, favorite family recipes, and food-related tips and stories!
We've answered some common questions to help familiarize you with Food on Shine:
Q: I'm new to Shine. What is this web site and what is a blog?
A: Shine is a community-driven Yahoo! web site where women share information and connect with each other and the world around them in an interactive and dynamic way. Shine is based around blogs - which is just another way of sharing your thoughts on the web. Learn about starting your own Shine blog in our Help section. Please read our Shine Community Guidelines so we can maintain a healthy environment.
Q: I'm already a Shine user who has blog posts in Shine's Food channel. Will my blog posts still be intact when Yahoo! Food comes over to Shine?
A: Yes, your blog posts will remain in Food on Shine. They can be found by clicking on the "Blogs" sub-link at the top of the new navigation bar. Also, all your posts will also be accessible from your Shine blog page.
Q. I've been following some chef
experts on Yahoo! Food. Where can I find them on Yahoo! Food on
Shine?
A. Some of Yahoo! Food's experts will
continue to blog on Food on Shine, including
Foxy Festivities,
Serious Eats, and Hungry
Girl. You can find them in the blogs area of Food on
Shine.
Q. How do I rate a recipe? And will
previous ratings remain once Food moves over to
Shine?
A. Rating a recipe is easy and fun! Just sign in, go to the recipe you'd like to rate, hover your mouse over the stars on that recipe, and click the rating you want. Your rating will be saved and you can always change it later. Ratings are tied to your Yahoo! ID, so your ratings will follow you when Food comes to Shine.
