You've Got It, 2

user

Exiting Chandler Polik's office, I felt like I was floating. I had to resist the urge to childishly stick my tongue out at Tammy as she brought me the gift basket Mr. Polik asked her to bring for me. She seemed to hate me even more now.  "Hold on! I almost forgot!" Mr. Polik came running out of his office. "Here's my real phone number. The one on the business card is only answered by receptionist." He glanced wickedly at Tammy. "This one goes to my assistant and she's always with me. She's sick today, so Tammy's filling in." He handed me a piece of paper with a phone number written on it in messy handwriting. I smiled. "Thank you so much for this opportunity. I don't know how all ever repay you." "Nonsense, darling!" Yes, he was the kind of guy that called everyone darling. How...Hollywood! or, rather, New York? "I'm telling you right now, your the next big thing!" I gave him a doubting look. "Who do you think predicted Miley Cyrus and Robert Pattinson?" He said reassuringly. "Now out! Go celebrate! But get some beauty sleep, because Saturday who need to be here at 9:00 a.m. to prep for your first audition. It'll be at 1:00 the same day. Bye bye, gorgeous!" He smiled warmly and went back to his office. "Well, don't expect anything soon," Tammy said, ruining my high."But you're used to that, aren't you? This is, what, the... twelfth agency you've been to?" Tammy put on an uber-fake concerned face. I took way to much pleasure in saying," First actually! Nice meeting you. See you Saturday!" I walked out the door not looking back to see her face until outside and hidden. She was aiming a shocked, impressed, and at the same time hateful look at where I had been standing. Bam! What now!? Ha ha! I couldn't stop myself from laughing. I walked to my car, and drove home singing along to every word of every song.  As i opened the door to my apartment, I knew something was wrong. Hadn't I locked the door? When I swung it open I saw standing there a handsome guy, my age, with shaggy-cute blonde hair, smiling ear to ear and holding tulips, my favorite. And yet I frowned as he reached out to hug me.Why was he here? I mean I love the guy, but...it's not like he's my boyfriend. we're just friends, and my real boyfriend would NOT be happy. "Hi Hun! I've missed you!" He said, engulfing me in a bear hug I usually loved. "What are...why...how...Scott, why are you here?"
