25 things to do in New England this fall for under $25

partner

Here at Cookie, we're a little autumn obsessed. Apple picking? Pumpkin carving? Leaf gazing? Sign us up. And, since our fall activities wish list is getting pretty long, we were psyched to see that the Boston Globe is helping us indulge all of our seasonal whims on a budget with its list of 25 things to do in New England this fall for under $25. Nearly everything on the list is family-friendly, though you might want to leave the kids at home when you check out Oktoberfest in Boston. Here are a few that we want to check out:

  • Mt. Monadnock: Make it a camping weekend with the kids as you hike the New Hampshire mountain.
  • The Big E: Officially called the Eastern States Exposition, head to West Springfield, Massachusetts, and check out the Big E's "super circus" and amusement park rides .
  • Pumpkin Festival: See if the town of Keene, New Hampshire, can out-carve Boston and take back the world record for most lit pumpkins (the number to beat is 30,128!)
Interested in more autumn activities around the country? Check out our national listing of upcoming events.
