Care Bears: Cheer, There & Everywhere

I received an advance copy of this new Care Bears DVD and I love how it maintains the same innocent, sweet, thoughtful animated characters from back in the day. It's just adorable and a perfect way to give your preschoolers a little intro to what you watched as a kid.

Maybe you're looking to assemble a stash of emergency DVDs for those emergency days when your preschoolers are home sick. Or perhaps you just want to stock up your movie library for family movie night (or when you have company and want your preschooler guests to mellow out).

Either way, help has arrived with DVD recommendations for your preschooler. Check out the slide show for my favorite flicks/shows that your little one is sure to love.

Great picks. I would also like to add Caillou (the newer versions only, he's too whiny in the older versions), Kipper the Dog, and Dora and Diego.

We watched Care Bears, Wonder Pets, and Curious George. We really favored Curious George over everything else. My son has the same nature as George, and just as cute, I might add. I agree with the first poster on Dora and Diego. My 7 yr old watched them everyday and loves it, and it's very beneficial for him. I have to watch so I will know what words he is speaking when he asks me something.

Yeah, these are fine, but my son isn't allowed to watch Kai-lan anymore. He started imitating two of the characters on there, the tiger and the koala bear. There are a few episodes where the tiger gets upset for whatever reason and he gets really angry and kicks things and starts yelling "I'm mad mad mad!" So, that's what my son does when he's mad. I get that the point of the show was to teach kids how to overcome a situation, but that didn't work in our case. There is another time when one of the characters is sad about something and is saying "I quit!" So, again, that's the part my boy picked up on and he doesn't really even understand what it means. Anyway, I'm sure most people won't have this problem, but that cartoon just didn't work out for us. Which is funny because he doesn't really imitate anything else he sees on tv, just that show. Instead of Kai-lan, I highly recommend Yo Gabba Gabba! It's much more entertaining and kinda fun for the adults to watch as well.
