A ride-on suitcase for kid travelistas

Since there's no such thing (yet) as family-class seating on airplanes, moms and dads -- and grandparents and everyone else about to board a plane with a tot -- are always looking for ways to make traveling with kids easier. Only it's not just surviving a long flight flight that's cause for a freak-out. It's the hour and change you spend waiting in a crowded airport terminal for your flight. And the post-flight baggage claim debacle. We're talking end-to-end family travel goodness, people.

What you need is something that keeps little ones captivated and busy before and after they get on the plane. Please, let me be the one to introduce you to The Trunki, which could just about be the coolest travel item for kids that I've seen. (I mean, besides Benadryl. I'm just sayin'.)

The Trunki is a ride-on suitcase.

Kids can pack it up with five gallons worth of all their precious treasures to help them stay busy through the flight. It has a little saddle so they can sit on it and mosey down the airport on wheels -- you can either pull them with a tow handle or they can scoot along on their own. And get this: it's a carry on.

The little suitcases come in pink, blue, green and have perky names like Towngo and Terrence and Trixie. The green one sells for US$50 while the other two colors sell for US$40.

If you have a toddler or youngish kid under 6, I say forget the stroller or check it and use a Trunki.

You can buy it at Little Jet Set.

That's really cool and could be useful for other trips, too - going to the beach or on a picnic.

    What a wonderful idea,

having two toddlers, and traveled in the past... up to 20 hours at a time travel! this seems like it would keep myself and others around us sane a little longer. I'm all for things that make little ones happy! but would still keep the stroller near by, little ones need breaks... at any given time!

What if you have two kids...would be helpful if there was a connector to pull both along!
