All About Preemies ... in Ma.gnolia

I just opened an account with ma.gnolia.com, a social bookmarking site and started a group to share my bookmarks about premature babies. As a computer teacher and parent of a boy born 6 weeks early I quickly realized information about the coping and the care of a preemie is hard to find in both the Web or bookstores. When I finally ordered and received "The Premature Baby Book" by Dr. Sears in Islamabad my baby was already two months old, and I was already recovering from my C-section as well as the preemie baby blues. Or at least coping better — because I still live in fear of SIDS, late development, learning disabilities, and other issues that will follow preemies until their adolescence. So I hope by sharing the sites that I found useful others will also share what they know or even experienced.

My husband and I have a special needs son who was born prematurely, and I have found online support through The March of Dimes. They have message boardsand you can advocate politically for preemies. There are also items such as wristbands that you can buy, and articles to read on their web site.

My husband and I had a baby 12 weeks early. And he is now a bouncing almost two year old. I couldn't have asked for a better miracle. But I wish I would have had answers, being 21 and going through that with so many questions. We need more Moms like you both!
