Are Kids Becoming Immune to Celebrity Escapades? Are Parents?
user
Miley Cyrus did a
pole dance during her performance
at the 2009 Teen Choice Aw
ards. And
Vanessa
Hudgens
is now a two-time nude photos offender --
but she's in good company.
Lindsey Lohan ,
Britney Spears
,
Paris Hilton ,
and other young female
celebs have had
scandalous photos (nude or otherwise) appear online -- and their
young fans can still find these images in the archives that are
accessible through even the most basic Internet search. But while
parents cringe, kids seem increasingly unfazed. Are they becoming
immune to celebrity
scandal ? And how do these incidents impact the images they
post of themselves -- or their friends -- online?

No.. I am not becoming immune to celebrity kids or celebrities in general.. As a disney star promoting kicks to children and kids, I as a parent must take the initiative and say NO THANK YOU!
As a Parent.. I don't let my children watch Hannah Montana's show where she is always talking back or sneaking around her parents.. just for the fun of it.
And Yes.. I HAVE BOYCOTTED HANNAH MONTANA/MlLEY CYRUS.
Her parents can't get a grip on their children because they are all GREEDY AND FAME w----S!
That is also why we have boycotted..Paris Hilton..for being in jail and doing a sex tape.. Lindsey Lohan who is ungrateful and obviously in drugs due to her many escapades in through rehab... Vanessa Hudgens who has posed naked.. and Britney Spears who has gone through the pits. I do have to say I am a little more flexible with Britney Spears due to the fact she has children and is pulling her life together. But the others..
They think reality is a party.... with no end in sight.
People forget Cyrus is still a minor and is dressing and dancing like a SLUT.. I guess for kicks..
Again As a Parent.. I won't stand for it.. HM/MC.. has been KICKED TO THE CURB!
And when I mean BOYCOTT>> WE WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING OF YOURS OR THE NAMES LISTED ABOVE>>
Don't for get the men celebs who have gone to jail or hit a woman.. Like CHRIS BROWN..
PARENTS BE RESPONSIBLE>>>DON"T SUPPORT BAD PARENTS AND BAD KIDS FOR BAD BEHAVIOR!!!!

I completly agree with you....Parents think that it is okay to let their kids idolize Miley Cyrus, but why would you let your kid look up to someone who dresses like a slut and pole dances on a TEEN award show. Kids these days have a great selection of role models....Vanessa Hudgens who can't keep her clothes on...Paris Hilton....jail, sex tape.....Wow what great choices.....I think that M/C needs to realize that she is a role model.

I completely disagree with these self righteous (full of s---) people. Celebrities are human just like the rest of us, no one has any right to judge these kids that have so much pressure from the media and all the people *like those from the comments above* who criticize everything they do. I am a huge defender of Miley Cyrus, and other celebrities who have made mistakes because I am not immune to things like that and neither is everyone else. The only difference is that their mistakes are amplified by everyone. I know regular girls do much worse things that what Miley has done, but that doesn't matter because they're not famous *I have a little sister in that age group and have heard horrible stuff from her friends* .
The job as a good parent is not to stupidly boycott everything from a celebrity... that's terribly childish. Not to mention they're teaching their children to be judgmental when their parents are no better than the celebrities they criticize.

Miley is the next Britney Spears. Britney started off on the Disney Chanel and is all screwed up not because of her fame, but part of it has to do with parenting skills. But all that being said and done tv teens are trying to hard to fit in to acts of adults. Miley wants to grow up and out of the teen fase but she needs to remember her audience that looks up to her are kids/teens. But to each is one. Miley is doing a good job with acting and singing so she feels she's comfortable with the way she performs and whom ever does not like it can change the tv.

I think Disney should take her show off. This girl has had too many "mistakes" that have been made within a year alone! Skanky photos online(twice, I believe), the magazine cover, the racist comments and now this?!
Then again, it is said that Disney owns a adult entertainment company under another name.
Her parents must support her and her choices, but then again-who is getting most of the money right now? They are, due to the fact that she is under 18!
Within a year or two, she will either have legal issues or poses for a nasty maagzine.

I agree. I've seen alot of kids in her age group and younger talking alot worse then a little pole dancing. Being a lesbian or bi at 13? I know a 17 year old that has had sex and did more drugs then me or my friends had ever though of doing at her age. But it is her parent's allowing those things to happen and mainly is for the money. It's terrible to have that kind of publicity at such a young age.

Paris Hilton, role model? since when? And Vanessa Hudgens is not a child - she is a grown woman who happens to act. Neither one of these woman claims to want be role models to your children. Give them somebody else to look up to for crying out loud!!

This is why I'm really glad I had a son. I might just be in fantasy land (and please feel free to correct me if I am) but I don't think I'll have to worry about this sort of thing as much with him since I haven't really seen any scandals about male teen figures (or maybe they are out there just not as publized as much). Now if I had a little girl I would probably be pulling my hair trying to find role models that she can really look up to and shorts that are long enough to cover their behind.

I think the pole dance was in bad taste, and personally I just think the whole Hannah Montana thing is stupid. As for Paris Hilton, I don't really consider her a role model because all she does is walk down red carpets. What else does she do? Britney Spears, while she is not the best person to look to, if your kids to love her, at least point out that she has gone from the bottom and now seems to be stabilizing a bit and that your kids should also learn from her mistakes. Lohan, well, she's just a mess.
Vanessa Hudgens, on the other hand, I will defend tooth and nail. Those pics leaked the second time were from the same batch as the first. Yes, she was a minor, but they were intended only for one person to view and got leaked. If she wants to send her boyfriend pics, and is comfortable with her body like that, then she is an adult now. Let her do it if she wants. If I want to send my husband pics of myself, then that's my business and no one can tell me that it's wrong. I'm an adult. it's not her fault they got leaked.
