Boy Suspended Over Spork

In another case of zero tolerance run amok, a 6-year-old boy has been suspended for bringing a camping utensil to school. It wasn’t a can of flammable sterno or a bottle of bear spray that got him in trouble.  It was a spoon/fork/knife combo utensil used for eating.

It's absolutely rediculous... and the boy was sent to... what was it? Reform School?.... Schools have become absolutely rediculous when it comes to 'safety'... what is this 6 year old going to do with a spork? Eat his lunch? I feel bad for that little kid... he was only excited because he joined the boy scouts for crying out loud... it's not like he brought a mechede... let alone a pocket knife... to school... :/

OMG!! I couldn't have been this boy's mom~ I would have been on the news for having a fit.. Seriously... this should not have made anybody's news... and the kid will be scared I am sure.. now had he brought a pistol, we wouldn't have heard a thing right SMH!

This is amazing. It all depends on what the boy was doing with it and where he kept it. If it was in his lunch bag because he sometimes likes to use a fork and sometimes likes or "needs" to use a spoon then it's perfectly acceptable. If it was in his pants pocket because he is a know "bully" and was probably planning to poke somebody's eye out with the fork side then it's not ok and should be dealt with accordingly.

    Just my opinion......................

Mrs. B, it's my understanding that the little boy had just joined the cub scouts and in his enthusiasm he brought the spork for show and tell..
