For those of you who don't know what gak is, think of it as silly putty only more shiny, pliable and long lasting. Plus, it's super cheap to make and younger kids will dig the process of mixing non-toxic Elmer's glue, liquid startch and the food coloring of their choice. And you can thank blogger Polliwog's Cake for posting the very simple directions.
Once the gak is thick enough, kids can roll it out like Play Doh, cut it with scissors, make shapes with cookie cutters, whatevs. We use it on old cookie sheets so it stays in one spot.
