Creative Potty Training: The outhouse
When you undertake the potty training adventure, everything about it has to be EXCITING. And FUN. And OH. MY. GAW! You are wearing (insert obnoxious movie/cartoon/toy character) UNDIES!
You know it.
But it's a challenging process (for most parents) and moms and dads are always coming up with new ways to get their kids to be diaper free. And also maintain parental sanity.
This
potty outhouse idea, courtesy of
Ten Finger Workshop, is one of the cutest potty training ideas I've seen. She created a cardboard outhouse complete with the moon carve-out on the front "door."
Open it up and there's the kid's throne.
It's pretty easy
to replicate without directions. You'll just need a box or pieces of cardboard you can assemble into a little house; kid-friendly paint so your child can help you decorate; and scissors or a craft knife for creating the outhouse openings.

Cute idea. I think my 2 year old is ready to start training. If asked and put on the toilet he'll go. But what about the pooping? How do you get him to do that? He's been picking the poop out of his diaper. And he doesn't know he's gotta go till he's going. Help MOMMAS OF THE INTERNET!! :)

wow i am so ther!!! my 2 yr old will pee and poop in a pull up diaper, or underwear! if he is naked he will do pee without telling u all by himself in the toilet!! but no mater wat he refuses to poop any where but his pullup! he will put something on just to not poop in the potty. i am at a lost myself!!! wat do u internet mommies think?? will it b easier with a potty chair/HELP!! i have 6 mos till the next baby is here and i would love not to have to change diapers for a while.

My grandaughter will pee in the potty. She usually will poop in her pants no matter it is pullup or panties. Her papa will not clean poopy panties, he throws them away. Tonight he set her on a chair, he asked her if she needed to go potty, she said no. then she pooped on the chair. Papa is extremely frustrated.
