Father's Day gifts under $20

Father's Day is Sunday, June 15. I find it to be one of the toughest gift purchases. We want the gift that says "We dig you" while also not digging super deep into the bank account.

Check out these ideas for Father's Day gifts that cost less than $20.

For the dad who loves his tunes.

iPod Retro Mini Speaker. If Pops has an iPod, add a little kid fun to it with this cute (yet manly) Lego inspired mini-speaker. It's tiny and puts off decent sound. The best part? No batteries required...it pulls its energy from the iPod. It's US$19.95 at delight.com. (via Cool Mom Picks).

5x7 Father's Day Casual Book
. Photo books are fantastic gifts for any occasion. Make a book with just photos of the kids and their dad or grandpa. You could even make one book that works for both dad and grandpa...just don't forget to order more than one copy. Let the kids pick the photos and write a story to add an even more memorable gift. Shutterfly's books are easy to make and are really good quality materials (read: they'll last). The 5x7 books sell for US$12.99 for 20 pages.

For the dad who thinks he's MacGyver.

11-Tools-in-1 Stainless Steel Credit Card Survival Tool. Seriously, this has to be one of the neatest little gadgets. It's a can opener, knife, screwdriver, ruler, bottle opener, wing-nut tool, saw blade, 4-size wrench, auxiliary wrench, 2 position wrench and key-chain hole. Can I have one? It sells for US$3.99 online. (via Mighty Junior)

For the dad who likes a clean car.

A car litter bag. Hear me out. If you know a dad that likes practical gifts, this is it. Who doesn't want a clean car? These cool fabric bags are compact and perfect for small litter that tends to creep around cars with kids inside. Check out this Etsy seller and pick patterns from sports teams to robots. Hand-made goodness for US$15. (Maybe you can convince her to make a custom-bag?)

What are some of your favorite purchased Father's Day gifts that don't cost a fortune?

Some nicer sunglasses than the $5 pair my husband buys over and over at walmart is what I'm getting my husband.

And for my dad I got that Black and Decker auto wrench thing.

Another good idea is to sit down with the kids and in a creative way make dad something that includes some genuine and greatful words from the kids as to why the love their daddy. OR a scavenger hunt all over the house is a great idea. Greet daddy at the front door with a home made poster board saying something like welcome home daddy and then put them all over the house.

And I actually agree with the "after the kids go to sleep, bust out the massage oil, etc" idea because when it all comes down to it people one thing that is simple and what a man always wants and appreciates and probably rarely gets after a few years of marriage and a couple kids later is a "true experience JUST for him......hey this is not only about kids being thankful for their father but wives being greatful for the fathers their husbands are! Because there are many kids out there suffering because they don't have one at all!
