Great Idea: Candy Rack as Bookshelf

Jacksroom

Nesting reader Jessie Senese of Frankfort, Illinois, sent us this brilliant bookshelf from her son's room. She repurposed a candy rack she found at a thrift store, and now little Jack can see and reach all of his books easily. So smart, and we love that the stickers are still attached! Send us your photos or home-design questions!

I bought this toy box at Target really cute. It's a big dark blue plastic container(no lid) with yellow wheels and a yellow handle. So it looks more like a wagon. I mainly check out books from the library and read them to my kids. I had to buy one because sometimes I check out about 12 books at a time so sometimes I have 20 books in my house and it was getting kind of messy having so many books and not having an specific place to put them away. The toy box is really deep inside so you can store a lot of books inside. I have it in the hallway closet and when ever I need a book just I pull the handle and since it has wheels it is so smooth. I love it. Best thing I ever did

This is such a good idea! I love ordering the scholastic books for my kids, but they are always paperback and impossible to keep organized in a normal bookshelf. This is a fantastic solution because now we can see the books!

Hey, I don't need to see the books(cover) . As long as they are organized and have a specific place that's good for me. Anyways the rack takes too much space. You need half a wall to fit this thing. I like Teresa's idea better. Thumbs down for the rack :(
