And if you have you have some favorite homeschooling blogs, drop a comment with the link.
Okay, my picks for stellar homeschooling blogs are (in no particular order):
- Sprittibee. Check out this mom's homeschooling series post for her curriculums, book lists and other awesome resources for preschool through fourth grade.
- Stichy Witchy. A very fun read with a mix of crafty goodness and homeschooling tips.
- Our Homeschool. I'm currently digging this blog because Grumpy, the blog proprietor, is tracking of the family's tadpole (they're on day 7 -- hurry, check it out!). She also includes her homeschooling plans through Grade 2.
- Life Without School. This community blog is an excellent site to visit if you want a deep dive into real stories about what it's like to home school. One of my favorite posts is about how a mom uses her town's farmers' market as an educational experience. It's a beautiful read and also inspiring.
- Einstein's Momma: Mothering a Highly Gifted Child. Author and former homeschooler Alisa Valdez Rodriguez (she wrote The Dirty Girls Social Club) began homeschooling her son in 2007 when his school wasn't able to adequately address his serious smarts. He was bored and unhappy, and she changed that. While he's back in school now, look through her blog for some very cool ideas for lesson plans, including video news reports.
