"It will never be fixed," the father and star of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" told "Good Morning America" on Tuesday morning, in a segment billed as his "breaking the silence" surrounding the demise of his marriage. Excerpts of the interview also appeared later in "Primetime: Family Secrets."
Wait. Family what?
Is there anyone left in America who doesn't know that Jon and Kate's marriage will never go back to what it was in the early days of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," when cameras swarmed their house in Pennsylvania, capturing every runny nose, untied shoelace and passive aggressive interaction in the Gosselin family? And was there even a time when Jon Gosselin held on to his silence long enough to break it? Because between the reality show, the tabloid romps with the daughter-of-his-wife's-plastic-surgeon, the New York apartment, and the party in Vegas, some of us thought he had been trying to make a spectacle of himself for a while.
Other shocking "secrets" Jon revealed include:
- marriage at age 22 and eight children by age 27 is stressful
- having a nationally televised marriage and eight children is stressful
- being married to Kate is stressful
- appearing in "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" may have taken a toll his marriage.
- his atrocious taste in t-shirts was the first external tip-off to his mid-life crises
Okay, the last is pure lies and conjecture, but wasn't it a relief to read something with actual (and admittedly, useless) insight?
Here's a real secret worth revealing: That Jon Gosselin can be a very good father. Reveal it, Jon! Reveal it! No one will see it coming.
