kids bringing guns to school

Does anyone else in the world think like me on this issue? We hear it in the mass media so often these days.Of course, the mass media is all about sensationalism and very little about actual journalism these days, but that's a discussion for another day.Alot of people say that if we didn't have guns then kids wouldn't get them.True.Just like if we didn't have cars, drunks wouldn't drive.Having a gun in the home is not automatically a recipe for disaster, regardless of what the media and the liberal politicians say.The answer is education.Guns are not magical mystcal objects. They are just tools.I there are guns in the house,it would be a bad thing to hide them hoping little Cindy or little Billy won't ever find them. They will. What needs to be done is to go ahead and show it to the kids.Explain to them what it does, and how dangerous, and USEFUL it is.Take the mystery away.Take the curiosity away. Then, when they are ready, take them to a range and show them how it works.Let them see first hand the destructive power it has,and explain to them the proper use of it.Then give them consequences if they touch it without your permission.Real consequences.Tell them what YOU will do if they touch it,again, without your permission. Then they won't be so fascinated by it and will not as likely take it to school to show off to their friends. The real answer is BE A PARENT.
