Local activity blogs offer big tips for little kid fun

At least a few times a week, I find myself searching for something new to do with my kids. Even with all my crafty resources, this mama needs inspiration for local nooks that are kid-friendly or field-trip ideas that I'd never even considered.

I'm completely hooked on Being Savvy, a new blog recently launched by SavvySource.  It has localized info for parents with toddlers and preschoolers.

Check out the drop-down bar towards the middle of the page and you'll find more than 20 major cities across the country. Click on one and you'll be taken to a local blog for that city and the tips, oh the tips. Each city blog contains awesome ideas for parents who want to have fun with their kids. Books (which ones are good to read aloud?), activities (like a bike race for kids), field trips (weekend fun, anyone?), you name it. Seriously, we're talking deets like $1 ice cream cones at hidden gem parlors in cute neighborhoods you wouldn't necessarily explore.

All the tips are parent tested and kid approved because each blog is managed by a parent blogger living in that town and you can be sure they know local shiz. It's like you're getting super secret insider information. And I love that vibe.

If you care about what you're reading, you should know that each of the bloggers are definitely savvy and sassy. And many of them are some of my favorite daily reads in the blogworld. So there.

The downside? Being Savvy might not have your city up and running yet. But I'm guessing they will add more soon.

Check it out and report back.
