Momversation: Are You Happy With Your Post-Baby Body?

Extra weight, never-fading stretch marks, and changes "down there."  After you have a baby, your body will never be the same, and that can be hard to accept.  Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog asks the Momversation panelists, "Are you OK with your post-partum body?"  Featuring guest panelist Kierna Mayo, Big Kid Buzz editor of CafeMom.

Are you OK with your after-baby body?  Do you accept them as a part of being a mom?  Or do you like your body better now?  Join the Momversation by answering our poll or commenting in our related forums:

I've accepted my body now. I'm working on the harder areas, but I don't hate it. My body is still mine, and my boyfriend loves me and my body. Even my lower tummy that hasn't bounced back. So oh well right? Just work at it and get over it.

My body is fine. A week after I had my son my stomach was flat.

I am happy with most of my body still trying to get rid of some belly, but other that that my boyfriend makes me feel super sexy and thats what matters..

My body is no different except for a looser belly. But I look at my son and it makes it okay. If you took care of yourself before, during, and after pregnancy, then the changes should not be THAT drastic in your body. So what if I look like I have a pooch when I sit. As for "down there," maybe I'm the exception, but it's different by being tighter, which can be a little uncomfortable sometimes with intercourse, but in all honesty, I am fine with what I have.

I'm so happy with my body I just jump for joy every day about it. My girly parts must be even happier, though, because they continue to jump long after I'm done!(sarcasm!!)

After carrying 3 kids in 4 years, there are just parts of me that I don't think will ever be the same. I'm okay with it...but wouldn't say I'm happy about it. One thing about being a mom, though, is that I'm usually too busy to really think about it.

I was born in Sicily, and lived there for 14 years. All of the women there used a very tight girdle after they had given birth. Since coming back to the US, (I am a citizen) and having six children cesarean, I followed their procedures. It works! The scars, yes, I have to deal with, but the excess fat, no. Everything is where it was before.

Barbara, do you think 7 years post-birth is too late for that work? Cause if not, i'm going and getting me a girdle in every color available!!
