Report AbuseAddtional toxins in the home come from cleaning supplies. The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has many reports on the health hazards of common cleaning supplies we use. Studies have shown increases in asthma in children and women and men that clean for a living are at higher risks for respiratory problems. Not only on common cleaning supplies detrimental to your health they play havoc on the environment. In the U.S. we pour down 22 million pounds of household toxins down the drain. Most of the products are not adequately processed by sewage treatments or septic tanks. The long term effect of these toxins on our environment will offend our surface and ground water. Next time you pick up that bottle of glass cleaner, or other common cleaning agents think about what your family is breathing in. In reality clean does not have a smell. Consider more environmentally safe and non-toxic cleaning agents for your home. Visit http://www.squidoo.com/cleanandgreen to read more about creating a healthy home.
