As a stay at home mom with a 10 month old "fiesty" daughter, I don't have any time for me. I sneak in a shower during her morning nap, throw on my sweats and t-shirt for the day, and set to work on what housework I can accomplish before she wakes up. Then it is mommy duty until her next nap, then back to housework. Dinnertime arrives before I know it, time to feed her while I cook dinner for daddy who works 60+ hours a week so I can stay home. Then it is time for a bottle, and some family time, then I put her to bed. I am lucky if my boyfriend and I are still awake to catch an hour of tv at this point. It is more exhausting being at home than it was working!
My first Mother's Day is fast approaching. With little money, I am not expecting much...a card and rose would be nice, but how I dream of a day at the spa, a makeover, a journey necklace (for my 8 year relationship and motherhood), a trip...the dream items. But really, I would be so happy if I could just relax that day. Get a long hot shower, not have to cook or clean all day, to be able to sleep in and Jason get up with the baby, to be able to watch what I want on tv rather than Sesame Street or fishing shows, maybe a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse!
What are some of your Mother Day wishes? List some dream ones and some realistic ones. What are some of the best gifts you have received...outside of course of your precious little ones?
