For me to find the time to keep my blog updated is a challenge. It is on the to do list and the snooze button is hit many times a day. This Friday I had an hour wait in the car and several blogging ideas. Concentrating on any task is difficult. My son leaves for college 2000 miles away in less than 2 months. There is so much to do and empty home fears keep leaving the unconscious. When blog ideas strike, I need to write.
There was a pen in the glove compartment along with plenty of fast food napkins. I believe it was a design for a computer company product that was outlined on a cocktail napkin. Surely, I could write today's little blog on a McDonald's variety. In the end, I found that must only work if you have a cocktail, also.
Off to find paper. Lined paper. I passed on the yellow legal pad, the marbled composition notebook, and a generic spiral bound book. I found a cute pink patterned journal with no price tag. The only one of its kind as it turned out. After a 15 minute search for a similar item, the cashier decided it was for sale for $1.00!
Back to the car to put my thoughts down before the empty nest worries squelched my creativity. The front and back of one page is the perfect length in my long hand writing for the day's blog. In less than an hour, I had 3 blogs drafted and 4 more ideas as titles on 4 pages to flesh out later.
Once home, I embellished my dollar find as shown above. I can blog anywhere inspiration strikes now. And, I'm thinking the boys won't read it...too icky with pink and flowers.
