Pregnant (again): Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are expecting their first grandchild

My first thought after reading that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will soon become first-time grandparents? Relief––I cannot fathom another round of discussions on how crazy Michelle must be to keep having babies.

But yes, now Michelle and Jim Bob will be grandparents. Their eldest son, Joshua, 21, and his wife, Anna, 20, are expecting their first baby in October. He and Anna are newlyweds, and will celebrate their first anniversary in the fall. TLC will be following the pregnancy as part of the Duggar's show, "18 Kids and Counting."

Jim Bob told People magazine, "We are really excited about being grandparents. We think it is really going to be easier than being parents."

Most newlyweds, especially young ones, take some time to just enjoy their new lives as a couple. Joshua and Anna Duggar? They're jumping right into the parenting realm. It makes me think they will have a very large family, similar to Michelle and Jim Bob. As the oldest of 18 kids, I'm positive Joshua has a most excellent idea of how difficult it is to raise and support family. (And if he needs a refresher, I guess he can always go back and read the books his parents have authored.)

Also? When Baby Duggar enters the world, he or she will be welcomed by eight Duggar aunts and nine Duggar uncles––all siblings to baby dady Joshua. The youngest aunt will be only one year older than her expected niece/nephew.  But most comical will be this little child growing up and having to learn all the names of the aunts and uncles; they all start with the letter J.

I come from a family of 9. I was just another one of the kids and I mattered less than dirt to my parents. I despise families like this.

Oh, and I doubt Anna went to college(she's only 20), because in families like this, they believe women shouldn't go because they're supposed to stay at home and take care of kids. Hmmm. Shady.

waow!! Love the idea of parenting so many kids but dreads the reality of it. A great heart to the Duggars in raising their school of Js.

This makes me sick. Most of the time in cases like this, the older children are made to take care of the younger ones. I knew a girl who had 8 brothers and sisters. She was the oldest. The 3 youngest children STILL call her mom! NOW that is sad. I do not care if you can afford to have a big family or not. There is something more important than that, it is called time spent with each child. They know they are loved, it is in the loving that shows them.

A study must be conducted on the disorder of hoarding children. And some of these people need to be informed that there isn't a prize for winning the breeder's cup.

Hey Melody- I come from a family of 5 kids, I know people with 10. Just because your parents didn't pay YOU attention doesn't mean that all big families are like that. I'm sorry your childhood sucked, but broad statements are ignorant.

Hey, I'm the oldest of 5, and I don't HAVE to take care of the others. I often help out, especially with the 3 and 6 year olds, because they are super cute, but I don't help when I don't feel like it. For example, I'll watch them while mom goes to the store, but if a friend calls, they go with her.
